Gone within days of each other, two years ago this month.

Still family–dearly loved and profoundly missed.

Anna Blake, Infinity Farm.

WordPress Photo Challenge is a weekly prompt to share a photo- I enjoy twisting these macro prompts to share our micro life here on the Colorado prairie. My photos are taken with my phone, on my farm. No psych, definitely not high tech.

I too have loved and lost. Time eases the pain but she is forever in my heart! I still can’t bear to let go of her favorite toys or the clump of fur that I tucked away.

Gone too soon from the earth, never gone from our hearts. I lost two fur babes within a month of each other and it was one of the worst life experiences, but it taught me I can learn to live through that pain when I lost both my dear grandmother and mother within ten months of each other. Cherish all so you have the sweet memories to ease your tears later.

I lost my dog in August of 2002 and had to have my 28 year old horse put down in December of that year. It takes a while to begin to move on. Their lives are so short compared to ours – hopefully we will meet them all across the Rainbow Bridge!

    1. I make some people mad saying this, but it’s what I believe. I think we honor the loved ones we have lost by bringing another into our families. I think it makes our hearts bigger and stronger. I am sorry for your loss, hope this opinion does not offend you.

  4. Got me again Anna. Yes Rainbow Bridge. I read that at my grans funeral this year as she loved animals and took on multiple strays. My therapist said I should get another one when I could not get over my Husky Vienna untimely. 2 years also and we lost Bagheera cat that year, Jim and Gran.

  5. We don’t ever “get over” such losses. Our animal family members really do remain deep in our hearts. There are days I miss the long gone ones so much it feels immediate and raw. Until we meet again memories are the greatest balm – along with a new buddy. So sorry Anna!
