Photo Challenge: Tiny

Feel that tiny instant just after
the thrust, the silence of soaring
with hooves thundering down

below. The push of his stride gives
lift to dusk moments, untold dark
memories that feel less than free.

(WordPress Photo Challenge is a weekly prompt to share a photo–I enjoy twisting these macro prompts to share our micro life here on the Colorado prairie. My photos are taken with my phone, on my farm. No psych, definitely not high tech.)

  1. In a tiny instant, just after my brain absorbs the image, my soul soars with the joy of the spirit of the horse. In the next tiny instant I crash to the ground, humbled & painfully aware of my very human short-comings.
Can’t believe that photo came from an amateur with an iPhone. Amazing.

  2. Love the photo. They must be feeling the nice fall weather. Its still hot here (Texas) I think we’re around 20 degrees above normal. Should be good for a third or fourth cutting of hay.

  3. Everything about that photo is amazing! Can’t stop looking at it. Thank you again for sharing your world with us!!

  4. The freedom and joy expressed in this photos (well, all of yours, really!) brings tears to my eyes and I remember (vaguely) that same feeling of intensity and total trust in the future. Yes, the ground will be there after I kick out and soar in the air. Susie Mare and I are a tad older now and hopefully a little wiser and do not kick out w/wild abandon like we used to. Neither do we gallop for miles jumping every possible obstacle. We both miss it but enjoy our quieter rides now. We are together and that makes up for it all. No regrets…..
