Photo Challenge: Easy Being Green

I’ll take this gray rain
to wet a controlled burn
in my lungs that’s taken my
air and dropped me flat to
ground, scorched and raw.

I’ll take this gray rain
to soften my jaw as
rounded shoulders hang
low, honoring the loss of
an old heart that held mine.

I’ll take this gray rain
to smooth my brow,
while rising to meet coal
ash easing to sky blue,
never again like before.

It IS Easy Being Green!

  1. I love the right angle in this picture. And the poem, beautiful. The in between moments hold so much.

  2. Quietly wearing my heart on my sleeve, the world dares to evolve back to green. I remain in the netherlands, looking for a heart disappeared in the fog, unwilling to return.
