The sun leaves just the sky behind,
a watery arch over the prairie,
and my feet cling to the ground
unwilling to let loose of this day
for its beauty and possibility
and loss. There is always loss.
In the moment of light remaining
just a pause to ask my jaw to
soften; to be glad of the sadness
that marks this day worthy of memory,
giving dimension to silhouettes
and music to the moments that grow
special in hindsight. Moments that
lift my stride again, fixed to a
simple wealth of earth and sky.

Lovely. Beautiful. Thank you.
Thanks, Julie. Perhaps you do chores at dusk, too.
What a great photo. If I’d taken it, it would satisfy me too.
Thanks, Margaret. Beautiful light at dusk…
Very emotional, Anna Blake. Made me long for my Gabrielle, RIP
Sorry, and yes, good to lift a good memory. Sorry for your loss, Shirley
Beautiful as always. Thank you Anna. Wishing you an abundance of new summer days filled with beauty and possibilities.
Thanks you, Francine, doesn’t every summer seem a bit more precious?
And a llama is happy with a mere blade of grass 😀
She has a pile, of course, but they seem to savor whatever they eat… Hi Jann, thanks for stopping by.
Very beautiful and poignant Anna 🙂
Thanks for the kind words!
You are most welcome Anna 🙂
